This is a cage-free egg farm. This supplier would be allowed to also call this farm “humanely raised” and depending on the feed, call it organic. Does it look humane to you? Does it look like they have any more space than a battery cage? They’re still debeaked. Still de-toed. The males are still ground up alive! And they’re still slaughtered. So what could possibly make this “humane”? That’s right, nothing.

Though it’s been quietly in the works since 2011, Fox has officially confirmed that Carl Sagan’s monumental 1970 sci-ed miniseries Cosmos: A Personal Voyage will be getting an updated sequel next year, which will consist of 13 episodes produced by Family Guy’s Seth MacFarlane and hosted by one of the Internet’s most celebrated astrophysicists, Neil Degrasse Tyson. Fox is hoping the show will have as much as of cultural impact as Carl Sagan’s original series, which still remains one of the most watched PBS series in the world to this day.

NO PITY FOR A COWARD

Well, they aren’t cowards, they are literally in the ring with a bull.

Yeah, they’re cruel, but they’re not cowards.

you’re mistaking raging bloodlust with bravery.

there is no such thing as bravery or honor in a bullfighter. none of them actually risk their lives in the ring, each bull is routinely subdued and crippled long before the massacre begins:

The bull has wet newspapers stuffed into his ears; vaseline is rubbed into his eyes to blur his vision; cotton is stuffed up his nostrils to cut off his respiration and a needle is stuck into his genitals. Also, a strong caustic solution is rubbed onto his legs which throws him off balance. This also keeps him from lying down on the ground. In addition to this, drugs are administered to pep him up or slow him down, and strong laxatives are added to his feed to further incapacitate him. He is kept in a dark box for a couple of days before he faces the ring: the purpose of this is to disorientate him. When he is let out of the box, he runs desperately towards the light at the end of the tunnel. He thinks that at last his suffering is over and he is being set free — instead, he runs into the bullring to face his killers and a jeering mob. (source)

Several hours before the fight, the bull is kept in a stall, deprived of light and water. They are separated from other bulls. This is traumatic for them as bulls are naturally herd animals.

Many bullfighters have reported that the bulls are also beaten and injured prior to being released into the ring.

Their horns are also sometimes shaved. This involves sawing off a few inches of the horns. Bulls depend on their horns to help them navigate and shaving impairs their ability to do this. Shaving is illegal, but many get away with it.

Bulls are sometimes stabbed and wounded before being released in the ring. After being released, he may be taunted by a group of humans who will frustrate him by forcing him to run in circles and collide.

Men called picadors approach the exhausted bull on horseback.

These men drive lances into the bull’s neck and back, resulting in more injuries and blood loss and disabling him from lifting his neck or head.

Picadors are usually not injured. Any injuries inflicted by the confused, exhausted bull are usually to the picador’s horse.

The matador appears next and provokes the injured, dying bull in to weak charges.

He will attempt to kill the bull with a sword but it usually only results in injuring him and resulting in more pain and blood loss.

During the final stage, an executioner is called in to kill the bull by slashing his spinal cord.

This is for the benefit of the audiences, and sometimes the effort is not enough to kill the bull. It’s not uncommon for a tortured, paralyzed, conscious bull to be tied by his horns and dragged from the ring. (source)

every single bullfight is a systematic torture killing that pits a gang of armed thugs against a lone, frightened, drugged, visually impaired and wounded animal in front of an audience of braindead savages. these men are not only cowards, they are psychotic, emotionally deadened, maniacs without remorse who will stop at nothing. the worst atrocities you can imagine are regular activities for them:

it’s easy to condemn something so removed from your daily lives as bullfighting, but what do you do against the cruelty that seeps on your plates every single day? how do you justify the suffering you ingest everyday? how can you ignore the pleading of cows, pigs, chickens and every other slave of the death industries, cowering in utter fear while there’s a bolt gun to their head and a knife to their throat.

you are not on top of the food chain, your choices aren’t on par with lions eating zebras, a vegan diet is neither unhealthy nor expensive, there is no such thing as vegan privilege, it doesn’t matter if you’ve always eaten animals, hunting isn’t noble, fishing isn’t either, you are not an inuit, humans are not carnivores, you’re canines don’t mean shit, veganism is not racist or classist, cows do not need to be milked, plants are not sentient, plant-based protein is easy to come by, it is not your right, it is not a personal choice, the (phyto)estrogen in soy is not dangerous, dead animals are not healthy - every nutrient you need comes from plants, animals are sentient and thus feel pain - there is no denying that, the soy monocultures you are thinking of are actually fed to livestock not vegans, no, you can not love animals while killing and eating them, respecting an animal after you’ve murdered it doesn’t mean shit and neither does using every part of the animal, intersectionality does not negate veganism, veganism is not a belief and it sure as fuck is not dogmatic, vegans are making a difference, intelligence does not matter - sentience does, breeding someone for the purpose of eating them is not an ethical justification, buying local isn’t more sustainable or more ethical than veganism, taste does not matter, taking “good care” of them before you kill them does not make it ok, yes, cows are raped, no, capitalism does not need to be smashed first, human problems are not more important, if you are concerned about migrant worker exploitation - stop eating meat, no, there is no humane way to kill, rape, exploit or enslave, if your mom won’t cook vegan for you - fucking do it yourself, no a vegan diet is not hard or unhealthy, no, vegetarianism isn’t fucking good enough, meat does not make you manly.

i’ve heard it all before and none of this selfish bullshit is valid. you’re making excuses.
you are lying to yourselves and you are killing the planet and everyone living on it. animals don’t exist for your convenience.

for the good of all, you must understand that this is not about food - this is about justice.

every sentient life matters. go vegan.
